2012 Los Angeles X Games: Moto Videos & Results Of Best Whip, Best Trick, Step Up And Freestyle

The 2012 Los Angeles X Games are being hosted this entire week. Motocross is privy to have numerous different events at the 2012 X Games, including Freestyle as the first moto event , followed by Best Trick, Best Whip, Step Up, Motocross Racing, Enduro X, and Speed & Style. By Saturday June 30th, four of the moto events were in the books, here are their results.

Freestyle: Taka Higashino won the Gold Medal at the opening Freestyle competition via his insane Backflip. Fellow Monster Energy teammate’s Nate Adams, Blake “Bilko” William and, Adam Jones,  finished fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Andre Villa, Monster Energy’s other moto member, was injured and sidelined as a result of a crash, but is reported to be ok.

Best Whip: On Friday night six FMX riders competed in the Best Whip contest. Jeremy Stenberg dominated the event, earning the gold medal over Jarryd McNeil, with fan favorite, Todd Potter taking home the bronze. Motocross Pros Josh Hansen and Billy Laninovich competed also, earning a fifth and sixth place. Spain’s Edgar Torronteras edged Hansen by just one percent of the vote for his fourth place finish.

Best Trick: Jackson Strong pulled off an insane trick to win his second ever X Games gold medal. Taka Higashino earned a silver medal, while Cam Sinclair used his double back-flip to take home the bronze. Fan favorite Kyle Loza had issues, and eventually pulled out with an injured leg sustained in a fall.

Step Up: Step Up had the crowd on their feet when  Matt Buyten and Ronnie Renner dazzled the venue with unbelievable talent. One by one competitors were eliminated as the bar was raised. Massimo Bianconcini, Todd Potter, Myles Richmond, and Brian Deegan were all eliminated, leaving only Buyten and Renner. Renner won the gold medal and set a new world record during the event, 47 feet.
