Big Easy ‘Bam Bam’ Justin Barcia Coasts To 2012 East Lites Supercross Champion Title

Justin Barcia pretty much dominated the 2012 East Lites Supercross season and closed the deal in the Big Easy at Saturday night’s 2012 New Orleans Supercross. Justin Barcia is no question one of the fastest of today’s newer riders, and he will likely go on to be a legendary motocross figure in the coming future. Like Ryan Villopoto dominated, so did Justin Barcia….only Barcia seems to have done it with a completely stacked gate, his fastest competitors healthy and present. Barcia’s 2012 supercross title victory in New Orlean’s was cause for celebration, yet was almost overshadowed by a first time victory by another rider. Pro Circuit’s Darryn Durham won an intense lites main event. Durham’s much deserved first ever supercross victory shared center stage paparazzi. Barcia was the real winner though, and he casually coasted to a fourth place finish to claim the 2012 AMA Supercross East Lites Champion title …with a bit of Big Easy style. Blake Baggett crossed the finish just behind teamate Durham’s first place victory, earning a second place finish…helping boss Mitch Payton ignore Barcia’s season spanking. Meanwhile, rookie sensation Justin Bogle showed more amazing speed, and took his Honda up to the front of the pack by race’s end. Bogle is one to watch for sure, his amazing charge earned him a podium 3rd place finish .Other lites riders werent as lucky as Barcia, Durham, Baggett and Bogle. Malcolm Stewart solidified his reputation for showing off some spectacular crashes while Blake Wharton saw his points chase slip from 2nd overall to 4th overall. Near season end Whartons night was possibly  more painful than Malcolm’s endo, unfortunate luck for Wharton who has shown great speed in the 2012 supercross season. Ken Roczen sits in third overall tied with Durham with 143 points. Chronic MX friend and rookie Floridian Zack Freeberg, a loretta lynn multi-champion, quietly celebrated too, as Freeberg overcame half a dozen opening season obstacles to finally make his first pro supercross main event, almost earning a top ten finish. Lites Supercross racing now shifts back to the West season in Seattle. We wont see the East Lites class again until the Vegas shootout. Cheers Chronic MX.
