Chronic MX Tech Tip: Leaky fork seals? Be sure to check the bushings

After replacing the fork seals on my trusty Yamaha YZ 250 three times in one month, I decided to check in with suspension expert Bobby Williams of Pro Action Suspension to see what the heck was going wrong. Bobby has been riding motocross almost as long as the Chronic MotoX team…for over 20 years. Bobby is a “working man” now and doesnt get to ride as much as he’d like to, but he knows a heck of a lot about motocross suspension. He has been working for Pro Action Suspension for almost 8 years now, and can be found at numerous local florida motocross tracks on any given day. Bobby quickly discovered that the issue with my fork seals was that I had very worn fork bushings. Bobby suggests that one should always inspect and possibly replace the fork bushings each time your fork seals are leaking. If you replace your fork seals yet still have older worn out bushings, chances are you’ll spring another leak soon! Check out this Chronic MX Tech Tip video above to learn more. Cheers, Rocket 88.
