FMX “Godfather” Mike Metzger injured in crash during Slovakia event: Video
FMX Freestyle motocross legend Mike “The Godfather” Metzger suffered injury this Saturday night, June 4th, at the Sony Ericsson FMX Jam event in Slovakia. Metzger, one of the founding fathers of the Metal Mulisha, was competing in a worldwide FMX tour that took him traveling to Slovakia, a country located in Eastern Europe. Metzger was apparently riding a completely stock KTM 350 because his shipped items had not arrived in time for the show. Metzger, not used to the stock KTM, caught the edge of the dirt bike’s larger seat with his foot, causing him to miss the grab and land on his bike side upon decent. The crash, seen on the above spectator home video, fractured ten of Metzger’s ribs, fractured his collarbone, and fractured his scapula. It is still unclear as to whether or not Metzger will make the upcoming X Games 17, an event that Mike has won three gold two silver medals in the past. Knowing Metzger and the extent of his injury, we fully expect to see him healed up at the X games to attempt a run for the Gold! Cheers, Rocket 88.
