Justin Barcia Signs With Team Honda Muscle Milk For 2013

Justin Barcia fans got a big surprise during the 2012 Las Vegas Supercross. Erik Kehoe, manager for team Honda Muscle Milk, announced that Barcia would be joining the Honda Muscle Milk team for 2013-2014. Barcia will race the AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships aboard a factory Honda CRF450.

Barcia absolutely dominated the 2012 Supercross Lites East class while riding for Team Geico Honda…proving that he is without question, one of the fastest riders headed up to the premier class next year. Factory Connection President and GEICO Honda Team co-owner Rick Zielfelder stated, “ We are pleased to see Barcia make the transition to Team Honda Muscle Milk.” Barcia made his own statement in Vegas, winning the East Coast Lites main event and the East / West Lites shootout, proving that he really was the fastest lites rider on the circuit. Barcia won both the 2011  the 2012 Supercross Lites East championships.

There is no doubt in our minds, that ‘Bam Bam’ Barcia will do extremely well next year, regardless of what veteran talent lines up next to him on the starting gate. The aggressive lites rider has been on Hondas for almost his entire career, and seems to be a perfect match for the factory American Honda team. In 2011, Barcia filled in for an injured Trey Canard during the outdoor season and seemed to need no time whatsoever to adjust to a bigger bike. He raced the last four rounds aboard a factory Honda 450, placing an impressive third at both Unadilla and Pala, and winning at Southwick. Congratulations to ‘wild child’ Barcia on a spectacular 2012 season and a very promising future. We are looking forward to seeing Barcia hitting that rev limiter on his new ride. Cheers, Chronic MX.
