Ryan Dungey gets first win of 2011 Outdoor Motocross season at Thunder Valley

The high altitude of Colorado proved to be just what Ryan Dungey needed to lock in his first overall top podium of the 2011 Lucas Oil outdoor motocross season. Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto had been dominating that position so far, with Dungey pretty much eating their roost at the first few races of the season. Thunder Valley proved to be different. Dungey rode strong, smooth and fast…finishing 2-1, for the top podium spot. The track was challenging and technical, with massive ruts swallowing riders and causing several DNF’s. Mike Alessi, Kevin Windham and Christian Craig continued to show flashes of brilliance at Thunder Valley, but the season is shaping up to be a battle between three motocross legends: Chad Reed, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey. Cheers Rocket 88.
