Ryan Dungey to ride for KTM under Roger Decoster in 2012: A rumor gaining traction
Probably the most talked about rumor on the national motocross circuit right now is that Ryan Dungey will be riding for team KTM in 2012. It’s actually not that far fetched a thought. First of all, Dungey’s contract with Suzuki will be ending in 2011…so yes, it is a fact that he will be seeking a new ride and signing a new contract for 2012. Secondly, Ryan Dungey isn’t in desperation to go with whom ever offers him the most money. He will instead be much more motivated to choose the “right match” in his quest to regain the title. Dungey and Roger Decoster (KTM team manager) worked as well together as any rider / team manager have in the history of the sport of motocross. They were a perfect fit, and their results speak for themselves. Roger Decoster took a chance and recruited Ryan Dungey when he was just a fledgling amateur in the B class at Loretta’s in 2006. Decoster pretty much “coached” Dungey into becoming a champion of both supercross and motocross within a very short time-frame…and with records to match past legends of the sport. The relationship simply worked…not to mention that Dungey was like a soldier and made it happen by listening and executing Roger’s every instruction. Roger most likely has already hit KTM’s piggy bank for enough money needed to attract Dungey. Thirdly, KTM desperately needs a “good ride” in 2012. Both Andrew Short and Mike Alessi have had less than stellar results this year. KTM is the most explosive company in the sport right now, and they need podium results. If Dungey gets a hold of a factory KTM 450f in 2012…it just may be the best results team KTM will have achieved. So, as KTM continues to build and expand its impressive arsenal with amazing new bikes, fast team riders like Ken Roczen, and marketing plans to rival the best…all under the leadership of motocross “God Father” Roger Decoster…it seems a no brainer that this widely spread rumor may soon become headlines. Stay tuned to Chronic MotoX for any updates. Cheers, Rocket 88.

KTM will win races and titles here in the States now. Mag tests are like trying to find a wife by living with one for 2 months, try living with her for a year, then two or three and decide how much you love her then. My KTM is 2003 and in the 3 years I rode/raced her, only replaced chains n sprockets, 1 top end job…and at the time I was a 40+B winning rider, hung with and beat half the pack of 40+ A riders as well. (knee replacement took me out of sport for a bit)
Also, ever notice what brand of bike former factory riders buy when its THEIR money they have to use to get the bike…yup, KTM bar none, the best bikes out there. They’re bullet proof.

It is about time KTM recruited a top notch rider, yea they did get mcgrath but it was in the tail end of his career.Irode jap bikes most of my life and when i finally woke up and saw the light and got a KTM i felt like slapping myself for taking so long to do so.And in reply to Chris saying KTM is a endurocross bike and not meant to fly,huh look at xgames and who is always there in contention especially step up.
