Ryan Dungey wins 2011 Washougal Washington Outdoor Motocross; Canard has nasty crash causing red flag

If you want to see someone ride a motocross bike really fast and really smooth…check out coverage of Villopoto tearing up his home  track during Moto 1 of Round 8 of the outdoor motocross series in Washougal Washington. Both Dungey and Villopoto rode awesome at Round 8 of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross race this weekend, taking home first and second place podium finishes. It was exhilarating to watch these two top dogs challenge the field. Reed was sore and hurting from his insane get-off last weekend and was stuck in the top ten for Moto 1, but finished an impressive 4th in moto 2…respectable considering his horrific crash just a week earlier. Ryan Dungey showed his raw speed and strength by nibbling at Villopotos heels during the first moto and then winning the second moto with ease. Dungey nibbled so hard at Villopoto in Moto 1 that it caused him to crash in a berm during an attempted pass on Villopoto. Trey Canard rode a strong 3rd place in Moto 1, but Canard’s luck was not so good in Moto 2. Canard crashed hard when the champ experienced a nasty crash on a fast downhill, and caused a red flag for moto 2. No word yet on his injury, but the crash was a hard one and the Chronic MotoX gang saw him grasping his previously injured leg as he headed off the track via ambulance. After the restart for Moto 2, Villopoto found himself chasing Dungey but unable to catch him. Dungey eventually pulled away and took home his 4th consecutive overall win at Washougal. Villopoto on the other hand still walked away a winner…he becomes holder of the red number plate as new series leader. Congrats Dungey and Villopoto, Cheers Rocket 88
