Team Green’s Zack Freeberg plans to race Pro Supercross in 2012
Team Green’s Zack Freeberg is one of Florida MX’s rising stars who hopes to one day earn a title in professional motocross racing. Zack plans to turn Pro in 2012 and race in the East Coast Lites SX Class. One week after the 2010 Loretta Lynn competition, Chronic MX had a chance to catch up with the mini champ at Sunshine MX in St. Petersburg, to ask him about his results at Lorettas and about his future plans. Freeberg has an impressive history of wins so far in his early career, especially considering that he has been injured for most of the last 3 years. In 2008 he earned his first major title: World Mini Champion. Later that same year he won Ponca City, and then won at Ponca again in 2009. In 2010 he won a title championship at Loretta Lynn’s, and this year he’d have likely brought home another Loretta title, but his brakes blew out in a Moto 3 collision. He placed first and second in the two other motos. Zack was looking fast and smooth for the camera, as I dodged the water holes at Sunshine MX to snap some shots of him and local Kevin Steele. Apparently, Zack has been practicing at Ryan Villopoto’s track in Clermont, Florida…most likely with fellow Team Green rider Adam Cianciarulo. Keep a look out for Zack in 2012, and check out some photos of him turning laps at Sunshine MX by clicking our ‘Event Photos’ tab above. Cheers, Rocket 88.
